Homeopathy: Medicine for the 21st Century Homeopathy is popular and widely practiced all over Europe, South America, and India because it has proved to be effective throughout almost two centuries of practice. But in the United States, where homeopathic medical schools, hospitals, and clinics once abounded, the clinical practice was almost completely eradicated by the American Medical Association, which was founded in large part to squelch homeopathy. Today, however, there is a renaissance of interest in homeopathy as alternatives to traditional Western medicine gain acceptance by both professional health practitioners and lay persons. In addition, although classical homeopathy has been in existence in its current form for almost two hundred years, relying on the same principles and remedies, it is based on ideas that are only now being explored and verified by cutting-edge research in the physical sciences. Conditions affected by Homeopathy Homeopathy is effective for many conditions not well addressed by mainstream allopathic medicine. Homeopathic remedies work by evoking a person's own healing response. They are gentle and easy to take, usually in the form of small lactose pellets. The remedies are regulated by the FDA and are formulated according to the Homeopathic Pharmacopia of the United States. Acute

Conditions Homeopathy is an excellent choice for babies and children and is an adjunct to the practice of chiropractic, Chinese medicine, massage therapy, and other modalities that support a healing response rather than suppress symptoms. Many flu, cholera, and typhoid epidemics were successfully treated with homeopathy in its early days. Why Homeopathy? For the health professional: As a health professional you want to give your patients the best possible care, helping them to maintain a healthy, normal lifestyle. By bringing yourself current with the contemporary renaissance in Classical Homeopathy, you can become a more effective clinician. Module One, which is a six month program, gives you the skills to practice acute homeopathy. Adding this modality to your treatment repertoire can help your clients recover from acute disease more quickly without the harmful side effects of drugs. For the aspiring homeopath with or without a medical license: If you have a serious interest in homeopathy, you may wish to take further modules after module one, get clinical training and experience, and become certified as a classical homeopath by the Council for Homeopathic Certification. Please note that there is no licensure of homeopaths at this time. Completing our study modules gives you a good foundation in classical homeopathy, but does not give you a license to practice. The Caduceus Institute is working with The Council for Homeopathic Certification and The Council for Homeopathic Education to create professional standards for all homeopaths, in the hopes that homeopathy will someday be a recognized field as it is today in Europe, India, and South America, and as it was in this country one hundred years ago To register or for more information, email willa@homeopathyhome.net or call 1-800-396-9778 |
