Clinical Training The clinical component becomes important to your study of homeopathy beginning with Module Two. There are several options for gaining clinical experience. Clinical training is not required by the Institute, but is invaluable if you intend to use your homeopathic skills in the real world. The Council for Homeopathic Certification (CHC) does require clinical hours to qualify to sit for their exam. We offer three options for clinical experience: a clinical intensive, monthly clinics for local students, our new clinical module. Serious students who wish to sit for the certification exam may wish to attend the Intensive several times as well as enroll in the Clinical Module. Onsite Clinical Intensive We offer a special four-day clinic during the summer for out of town students. The clinic is located at the Caduceus Institute in Santa Cruz, California. You are eligible to attend after you have begun Module Two or the equivalent. This is an opportunity to participate in live case taking sessions with an experienced homeopath. You will see all the skills you learn in the study modules come to life at these intensives. Distance Learning Clinical Module You are eligible to start the Clinical Module when you have begun Module Three or the equivalent in another program. This module consists of videotaped cases. You take the case from the videotape, analyze it, and send it to the Institute for feedback and grading. Unlike the other modules, these tapes are sent out individually to you. You will not receive the next tape until the previous assignment, along with the videotape, is sent back. This is a great way to gain clinical experience while studying at home. This module is divided into two sections, and can count for 250 clinical hours, according to current CHC guidelines. Other Options for Clinical Study We also offer private consultations on cases and practice building. This may be useful during later modules when you are taking your own cases or wish to begin your own homeopathic work. There are also clinics in Santa Cruz, CA three days per month. Please call us to inquire about fees for these clinical options. Internships with local homeopaths may also be possible and may be arranged individually by the student. We will do our best to help you find a homeopath to intern within your area. |
